Mr. John Makato, the recipient of the prestigious Best #Teacher Award at the Nanyuki High School Alumni Homecoming. With a passion for education and a specialization in Computer Science, Mr. Makato has achieved remarkable success in his teaching career.

Born and raised in Nakuru county, Mr. Makato pursued his higher education majoring in Education with a focus on Computer Science and Mathematics. His pedagogic skills, combined with his dedication, have made him an outstanding educator.

Since joining Nanyuki School in 2016, Mr. Makato has been an #inspiration to both his students and colleagues. His commitment to instilling # values such as hard work, persistence, optimism, trustworthiness, and pushing beyond limits has created a positive learning environment.

Under Mr. Makato’s guidance, the Computer Science subject at #Nanyuki School has witnessed a remarkable improvement. In the last seven years, the mean grade for the subject has consistently risen, reaching its peak last year with a subject mean grade of 12—the highest in the school’s curriculum examination history. Notably, all his students achieved an ‘A’ grade in Computer Science.
