Uniting Generations: How Two Alumni Groups Forged A Stronger Future

In a truly remarkable display of #unity and collaboration, leaders Paul Mugoh and Albert Wanjau brought together two separate #Alumni groups from Nanyuki Boys High School to establish a transformative Alumni association. By transcending generational differences, they merged their respective groups, forming an indomitable force that has reshaped the trajectory of their beloved #alma mater.

The tale begins with Paul Mugoh, a member of the graduating class of 1998, who harbored a strong desire to reconnect with his fellow classmates in 2009. What initially commenced as a humble WhatsApp group for reminiscing and sharing memories quickly evolved into a vital Alumni support network. Their collective efforts encompassed providing assistance and #financial aid during challenging times, including bereavements and medical emergencies. However, it was only a decade later that Paul stumbled upon the existence of another Alumni group led by Albert Wanjau. Recognizing the immense potential in merging their forces, they wholeheartedly decided to consolidate the groups, leading to the birth of the Nanyuki Boys High Alumni Association.

Since the amalgamation, the association has achieved extraordinary milestones, harmonized their objectives and made significant strides. A primary focus of their efforts is establishing a bursary fund to support deserving and underprivileged students. In order to sustain this noble cause, the #alumni community has established an endowment fund that aims to raise and strategically invest resources to ensure students can complete their secondary education and pursue their dreams unimpeded. Remarkably, the family of the esteemed late Principal G.K. Wanjohi has graciously offered their support to the trust fund, paying homage to their father’s remarkable legacy.

To further bolster the #Endowment Trust Fund, the Alumni Association has planned a momentous three-day “WALK” from Nanyuki to Nairobi, scheduled for the 4th, 5th, and 6th of August 2023. This captivating fundraising event endeavors to galvanize resources that will empower future generations of students, leaving a lasting and transformative impact.

As we reflect upon this inspiring narrative, it is evident that the bonds of Alumni affiliation can transcend time and generations, uniting individuals for a common cause. The Nanyuki Boys High Alumni Association stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and the unwavering commitment to uplift and strengthen educational institutions. Together, they have forged a path towards a brighter and more prosperous future, symbolizing the unyielding spirit of their beloved school.
